PGWP Pathway to Permanent Residency
Graduates from eligible Canadian institutions can obtain a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) for up to three years, enabling them to gain the Canadian work experience required for permanent residency through Express Entry or Provincial Nominee Programs.

Choose Institution and Program
Research Canadian universities and colleges to find a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) offering your desired program. Confirm entry requirements, tuition fees, and PGWP eligibility of the institution.

Apply and Obtain Letter of Acceptance
Submit your application with transcripts, English proficiency scores (IELTS/TOEFL), and any required supplementary documents. Upon admission, you will receive a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) needed for your visa application.

Apply for Canadian Student Visa (Study Permit)
Submit your study permit application to IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) online. Include your LOA, proof of finances, passport, and biometrics. Processing typically takes 8–12 weeks.

Arrive and Enrol
Upon arrival in Canada, collect your study permit at the port of entry. Complete university or college registration, attend orientation, and access on-campus support services for international students.

Graduate and Apply for PGWP
After completing your program, apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit within 180 days of receiving your final marks. Your PGWP allows full-time work anywhere in Canada, forming the foundation of your PR pathway.
